The Tonhalle Zürich, one of the most prestigious concert halls in Switzerland, is known for its outstanding acoustics and rich history. Since its opening in 1895 on the shores of Lake Zurich, it has experienced numerous musical highlights.
The halls were designed by the famous Viennese architects Fellner & Helmer, who also built the Stadttheater Zürich, now the Oper Zürich. The large Tonhalle impresses with five distinctive ceiling paintings depicting famous composers such as Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven, and accommodates more than 1,500 visitors.
After extensive renovations between 2017 and 2021, funded by the city of Zurich, the Tonhalle shines in new splendor and combines historical elegance with modern requirements. The concert hall is now a listed building and offers an impressive backdrop for classical concerts, readings, and cultural events
