MAGICAL PROG MOMENTS
The band Lifesigns, founded in 2008, has boldly written "Independent Modern Prog and Classic Rock" on their banner. Here, the finest prog meets jazz elements, classic rock, and pop influences. Presented at the highest level. Before the band departs in 2026 for the renowned prog cruise "Cruise To The Edge" heading to the Caribbean, they will be touring Europe for a few dates. Lifesigns brings with them the songs from their three previous studio albums and new tracks from their fourth opus, which is set to be released before the tour.
Lifesigns is the project of John Young. He is the lead singer, keyboardist, composes, writes the lyrics, and has full control over the distribution of his music. To perfectly realize his compositions in the studio and on stage, he gathers some of the most skilled colleagues in the scene around him. Although Lifesigns has only released three studio albums and two live albums since their founding and concerts on the European mainland are rather rare, the band's demanding, lyrical, and dynamic progressive rock has won many friends over the years. With three quite different but equally outstanding studio albums, the band has raised the bar to a very high level. As betreutesproggen.de wrote about the 2017 album: "Overall, 'Cardington' is convincing, as the album offers a small firework of melodies that somehow frolics between neo prog, AOR, and adult pop, lingering in the ear. For fans of complex progressive rock, it may be too simply structured, but for simple pop/rock, it is too cleverly composed and arranged." With the third album "Altitude" (2021), the band continued their magical blend of prog dynamics and strong melody. Stone-Prog.de stated: "'Altitude' has become a great album. It is touching, lyrical, diverse, and progressive." Progcharts.com wrote: "Particularly noteworthy is the addition of Dave Bainbridge on lead guitar. His guitar work is highlighted very well on this album, especially on 'Last One Home.' You know the goosebumps you get when you hear Gilmour play the crescendo of 'Comfortably Numb'..." The final conclusion was: "If you don't know Lifesigns yet, you should change that immediately."
