HIGH VOLTAGE ROCK’N’ROLL

Die Konzerte von live/wire gegen Jahresende sind im Z7 zur liebgewonnenen Tradition geworden. Auch in diesem Jahr macht die beste AC/DC-Tribute-Band Europas an zwei Abenden im Pratteler Rocktempel ihre Aufwartung. Begleitet von Höllenglocken, Dudelsäcken und Kanonendonner werden die fünf gestandenen Rocker am 20. und 21. Dezember die Hits und Raritäten der australischen Rocklegende zelebrieren. Getreu dem Motto: Let There Be Rock!

Seit bald 50 Jahren steht der Name AC/DC für harten Rock der Sonderklasse. Über 200 Millionen verkaufte Tonträger und ausverkaufte Stadion-Tourneen rund um den Erdball machen die Australier zu einer der erfolgreichsten Rockbands aller Zeiten. Vor über 20 Jahren entstand durch den Zusammenschluss der beiden Coverbands Riff Raff und Jailbreak aus der Region Basel die Tribute-Kombo live/wire. Seither reproduzieren die Musiker nahezu perfekt den Sound der Über-Band von Down Under und liefern dazu eine fantastische Bühnenshow mit allem, was dazugehört. Die Musiker atmen auf der Bühne richtiggehend den Geist der grossen Vorbilder. Und die kernige Brian-Johnson-Stimme von Sänger Däny ist wohl näher am Original als jede andere. Mimik und Mütze erinnern ebenfalls an den sympathischen AC/DC-Frontmann. Gitarrist Cello spielt die Riffs auf seiner Gibson SG auf den Ton genau wie Angus und wirbelt nach dessen Vorbild in einer Schuluniform über die Bühne. Adi rockt mit seiner Gretsch Gitarre in bester Malcolm Manier, scharfkantig und druckvoll. Ronny orientiert sich an der gradlinigen und schnörkellosen Spielweise von Drummer Phil Rudd und Beat legt mit seinen vier Saiten ein fulminantes Tieftonfundament der Marke Cliff Williams. Seit dem ersten Gig im Herbst 2002 wurde die Bühnenpräsenz in unzähligen gefeierten Shows stetig verfeinert. Und das Repertoire mit Material aus viereinhalb Dekaden AC/DC umfasst heute weit mehr als 50 Songs. Somit sind live/wire problemlos in der Lage mit originalgetreuem Sound und stromgeladener Bühnenpräsenz eine zweistündige AC/DC-Tributeshow abzuliefern, die sich sehen und hören lassen kann. Seit über zwei vollen Jahrzehnten feiern die fünf Freunde mittlerweile gemeinsam den Sound ihrer Helden und können nie genug davon bekommen. Steigt in den Rock’n’Roll Train nach Pratteln oder brettert über den Highway to Hell ins Z7, um mit live/wire die AC/DC Party des Jahres zu feiern.

The concerts of live/wire at the end of the year have become a beloved tradition at the Z7. This year, the best AC/DC tribute band in Europe will appear in the Pratteler rock temple on two evenings. Accompanied by hellish bells, bagpipes, and cannon thunder, the five seasoned rockers will celebrate the hits and rarities of the Australian rock legend on December 20 and 21. True to the motto: Let There Be Rock!

For almost 50 years, the name AC/DC has stood for hard rock of the highest class. Over 200 million records sold and sold-out stadium tours around the globe make the Australians one of the most successful rock bands of all time. Over 20 years ago, the tribute combo live/wire was formed from the merger of two cover bands, Riff Raff and Jailbreak, from the Basel region. Since then, the musicians have been reproducing the sound of the super band from Down Under almost perfectly, delivering a fantastic stage show with everything that goes along with it. The musicians truly breathe the spirit of their great idols on stage. And the gritty Brian Johnson voice of singer Däny is probably closer to the original than any other. His expressions and cap also remind one of the sympathetic AC/DC frontman. Guitarist Cello plays the riffs on his Gibson SG exactly like Angus and whirls across the stage in a school uniform, just like him. Adi rocks with his Gretsch guitar in the best Malcolm manner, sharp-edged and powerful. Ronny orientates himself towards the straightforward and unadorned playing style of drummer Phil Rudd, while Beat lays down a phenomenal bass foundation in the style of Cliff Williams with his four strings. Since the first gig in the fall of 2002, their stage presence has been refined in countless celebrated shows. The repertoire now includes far more than 50 songs from four and a half decades of AC/DC. Thus, live/wire are perfectly capable of delivering a two-hour AC/DC tribute show with authentic sound and electrifying stage presence that is worth seeing and hearing. For over two full decades, the five friends have been celebrating the sound of their heroes together and can never get enough of it.
